Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information Elkin Studio collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what you can do about it. We have tried to write it in plain English rather than the usual boilerplate.
Last updated 27 July 2026.
Who we are
Elkin Studio (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a design and strategy studio based in Melbourne, Australia, operated by Glen Elkin trading as Elkin Studio, ABN 66 981 876 803. We are bound by the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
If you have a question about this policy or about your information, email glen@elkinstudio.com.au or call 0423 088 215.
What we collect
We only collect what we need in order to reply to you or to do the work. Specifically:
- When you send an enquiry: your name, email address, and, if you choose to give them, your phone number, company or website, the kind of work you are asking about, and whatever you write in the message.
- When you download a guide: your name and email address.
- When you book a call: the booking is handled by Calendly, which collects your name, email and chosen time under its own privacy policy.
- Automatically, when you visit: standard server and analytics data such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you viewed, and the site you arrived from.
We do not collect sensitive information, we do not ask for payment details through this website, and we do not buy contact lists.
Why we collect it
We use your information to:
- reply to your enquiry and discuss possible work;
- send you the guide you asked for;
- deliver and support work you engage us for;
- understand which pages are useful so we can improve the site;
- meet our legal and record-keeping obligations.
We will not add you to a marketing list because you sent an enquiry. If we ever start a newsletter you will have to opt in to it deliberately, and every email will carry a working unsubscribe link.
Cookies and analytics
This site does not use advertising cookies and does not track you across other websites.
We use Vercel Analytics to understand how the site is used in aggregate, which pages get read, roughly where visitors come from, and where people give up. It is cookieless and does not use a persistent identifier, so individual visitors are not tracked.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site works normally with cookies disabled.
Who else touches your information
We keep the list of third parties deliberately short. Each one only receives what it needs to do its job:
- Vercel - hosts this website and processes standard request logs.
- Web3Forms - delivers contact form submissions to our inbox.
- Calendly - handles call bookings, if you choose to book one.
- Our email and analytics providers - store the resulting correspondence and usage data.
Some of these providers store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union. By sending us information through this site you consent to that overseas disclosure. We do not sell your personal information to anyone, ever.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept for as long as there is a live conversation, and afterwards for as long as we may reasonably need them, typically up to seven years for client work, in line with Australian business record-keeping requirements. If an enquiry does not turn into a project and you would like it deleted, ask and we will delete it.
Keeping it secure
Information is transmitted over HTTPS and held in access-controlled accounts protected by strong, unique credentials and multi-factor authentication where the provider supports it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. If a data breach ever occurs that is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify affected people and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by law.
Accessing, correcting or deleting your information
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email glen@elkinstudio.com.au and we will respond within a reasonable period, normally within 30 days. There is no charge for this.
If you are unhappy
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, please tell us first, email glen@elkinstudio.com.au and we will take it seriously and respond in writing.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be flagged clearly rather than slipped in.
